Myrcene is a terpene, or monoterpene, found in the cannabis plant. Functioning as both an antioxidant and an anticarcinogen, myrcene is known to have analgesic, or pain relieving, effects. Strains that have myrcene levels above 0.5% are known for their sedative and relaxing qualities, which after consuming a high dosage can sometimes result in ‘couch lock’.
